Arkansas Green Beans

A sweet and salty version of the classic vegetable

  • 2 cans classic cut green beans
  • 1/2 cup real bacon pieces
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/8 cup melted butter
  • 4 tsp soy sauce reduced sodium recommended
  • 3/4 tsp garlic powder


  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  • Spray the bottom of a 9x9 baking dish with non-stick spray
  • Drain the 2 cans of green beans and put green beans in the baking dish
  • In a small bowl combine the melted butter, bacon pieces, soy sauce, brown sugar, and garlic powder
  • Drizzle the liquid mixture over the green beans and then stir thoroughly
  • Bake until green beans are hot and the liquid has begun to carmelize (about 15 mins) - Be sure to stir halfway through
